
The club was founded on 10 October 1889 and since that time its matches are mostly played on the Griffin Park stadium. It was founded by members of Brentford Rowing Club. The first matches they played at Clifden House Ground. One of them was a meeting Brentford FC and Kew FC in 1889. In subsequent years the ground of matches changed several times. In 1900 Brentford Football Club had a wide circle of fans and since 1904 he started playing at the stadium Griffin Park. At the beginning of the twenties of the last century club he belonged to the Third Division South, and in subsequent years still climbed to the top, gaining better positions. In the early thirties he came to the Second Division and just two years after this success to the First Division. Unfortunately, the success story was cut by the outbreak of the Second World War. Then the club played mainly in the third and fourth divisions. After more than 45 years of absence, it got into the Second Division, but only for a short time. In recent years, an important figure in the club was manager Andy Scott, who led it to multiple victories. He has even been awarded as a "Manager of the Year 2008" from the BBC London. A few years ago it played in the FA Cup, and was promoted to the Championship. Brentford's main rivals are Queens Park Rangers and Fulham.
The most important successes of the team was: winning in the West Middlesex Cup, London Senior Cup, Middlesex Senior Cup in the nineteenth century, then in the twentieth century in the Southern Professional Charity Cup three times, in the London Challenge Cup, London War Cup and twice in the Supporters Direct Cup. Also Brentford Football Club team won many awards for the best performance, among other in the Football League First Division, FA Cup and Football League Trophy or in the Football League Cup.
The main team colors are red and white and black – the players are in red and white striped shirts, black shorts and black or red socks. Away colors are yellow shirt and white shorts and socks.
Griffin Park is a stadium located in Brentford, west London borough of Hounslow. It was built in 1904 and has since been the venue of the club Brentford Football Club.
